At San Diego Comic-Con 2014, N4AL’s Adron Buske had the opportunity to talk with Dark Horse Comics editor-in-chief Scott Allie.
A 20-year veteran of the company, Scott has been an editor on some of Dark Horse’s most popular books, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Serenity, Hellboy, B.P.R.D., Star Wars, and many more.
Now, as editor-in-chief, he is responsible for leading the creative and editorial direction of the company, acquiring new talent for his team, and securing relationships with exciting creators from the world of comics and beyond.
Scott gives us an in-depth perspective on what a Dark Horse editor does, the other editorial department positions that support them, and how he discovers and hires new editors. Even with his EoC responsibilities, he’s still a hands-on editor working directly on several books, and he stays involved in Dark Horse’s marketing and PR strategies.
