When: Thursday, July 30th, 2015 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Where: Industrious Social Office [map]

We invite you to come and talk careers in gaming, comics, tech, illustration, writing, and more with your comrades in nerdom. By assembling current and aspiring professionals from multiple career fields, we’re aiming to bring together those who may not always have the chance to connect and help people build new relationships.

For those who love to meet new people but cringe at the word “networking”, this event has something for you. This will be a casual, happy hour event designed to connect professionals in nerdy careers. But we will also have small breakout speaker sessions led by professionals where you can just come, listen, and learn.

Nerdy Networking Breakout Sessions

  • LaunchCode / CoderGirl Talk
  • “Let Me Help You Help Me Help You” – microtalk with Carol Mertz, partner/game developer, Happy Badgers Studio; chair, IGDA St. Louis chapter
  • “The Power of Pivot” – microtalk with Adron Buske, Creative Director & Podcast Host at Nerd For A Living; Owner of Armadian Creative

If that wasn’t enough encouragement, with your registration, you will receive complimentary drinks, appetizers, and an opportunity to win door prizes.

So, if you live near the St. Louis metro area, come and connect with other smart nerds. Who knows – it may lead you to your next “big thing”.

We hope to see you there!

About Super Heroines, Etc.

Super Heroines, Etc.Super Heroines, Etc. (SHE) is a 501c3 nonprofit focused on empowering women through educational events, classes, and workshops. As nerd and geek communities – like the tech field, comic conventions, and social media – are increasingly becoming hostile to women, SHE provides safe spaces for women through their mission to foster a women-focused community of nerds to learn, be creative, and gain confidence.

SHE does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, ancestry, or national or ethnic origin.

All are welcome! They ask that everyone is respectful and welcoming of all who join the group. Though they are female focused, men are welcome to join the group.
