Planet Comicon 2017 – 7 Panels with Nerd For A Living
Once again, Nerd For A Living is excited to return to Kansas City for Planet Comicon – April 28-30, 2017 at Bartle Hall Kansas City Convention Center. Planet Comicon is always a stellar show, with a huge guest list, an even bigger artist alley and exhibition floor, and tons of great programming.
At this year’s show, our host Adron Buske will be staying very busy, moderating or presenting seven panels. Along with our signature “How to be a Nerd for a Living” panel, and “Real Life Power-Up” interactive seminar, Adron will be having conversations with several groups of creators, entertainment professionals, and more.

Real Life Power-Up: Leveling Up Personally & Professionally
Friday, April 28th | 2:30pm – 3:30pm | Room 2104
This goal-setting workshop encourages attendees to create “leveled-up” versions of themselves as roadmaps to future success! Participants will construct a future-self using special character sheets that track skills, professions, and goals. They’ll then compare their present and future selves to highlight strengths, expose weaknesses, and map their way to achieving personal goals. Using familiar RPG gaming concepts, this session combines interactive fun with a useful, motivational takeaway.

Comic Book Storytellers: Artists who write and writers who draw!

There’s a special breed of creator who have mastered the art of making comics in multiple roles. To you they may be artists, or writers, but above all else they are “storytellers”. Come see Amanda Conner (Harley Quinn), Shannon Denton (Lion Forge Comics), Ande Parks (Green Arrow), Phil Hester (Blood Blister), and Colleen Doran (Wonder Woman) talk about how writing and art come together maybe tell a few stories themselves.
